HAYDEN'S PLATFORM
Hayden believes public education is one of the most important projects our nation has ever undertaken, and one that must be protected, strengthened, and reimagined to meet the needs of every student.
He believes schools are the heart of our communities—places where children grow, connect, and learn to participate in our shared democracy. That is why Hayden is committed to ensuring schools are safe, inclusive, and nurturing spaces for all students, families, and staff. Our communities must see schools as safe places. This means that immigration enforcement agencies have no place intimidating families, disrupting our student’s access to education, or using our public schools as a mechanism for separating families.
Hayden will prioritize investing district resources in classrooms, where they have the greatest impact on student success. He will work to reduce unnecessary administrative spending and redirect funds to student supports, because stable schools are strong schools and every student benefits when educators are supported and workloads are sustainable.
He also recognizes that rising housing costs are destabilizing our schools and communities. Hayden will continue to support current efforts to develop affordable housing for educators, staff, and families on underutilized district land, and will work to ensure these projects are transparent, equitable, and community-centered.
Hayden is determined to ensure that every student, regardless of background, neighborhood, or need, has the opportunity to thrive. Every decision he makes will center the well-being of students, families, educators, and the broader community.
